January 12, 2005SI Hot Chix SearchI don't know how many of you are watching and following the latest pseudo-reality series Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Search. Tonight is my first time watching it. I watching it for the first time because I was invited to a watch party back in Little Rock at Juanita's. Of course, I can't attend because because I'm enjoying life on Edisto Beach, South Carolina. Regardless, I was invited to a watch party for a friend of my extended group who was said to be on television. In my ignorance of pop culture, I emailed back this gem-- I'm a little behind--what is Kristi on? It's not so far away in the past that I don't remember the first thought that went through my mind when I first laid eyes on Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie in Altus, Arkansas, while they taped their breakout "reality" series "The Simple Life." That thought was, "there are girls just as pretty or prettier back in Monticello (AR)." Well, I guess I was right. If you have watched the NBC Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Search series, you might be familiar with "Krisi." If you visit the Krisi part of the website, you'll see her hometown listed as Little Rock, Arkansas. Now, I don't begrudge anyone claiming Little Rock as a hometown. Heck, I do, and I'm from the suburbs (but I was born there and spent the first few years of life there). In any event, she's from Monticello. I won't claim her as a friend, but I will claim her as an acquaintance (mainly because, us Southerners are a little too liberal with bestowing the title of friend on folks we don't know so well.). In any event, we're watching and pulling for 'Krisi' tonight. She is as pretty or prettier than Paris and Nicole. And she is better educated.
