Doing The Lord's Work

In my rather slow pace of catching up with the goings on in the blogosphere, I have failed miserably to catch up with Matt and Vicky of Blogmosis, Overtaken By Events, and formerly Liquid Courage, etc.

Since the tsunami, they and their church have been rather busy raising funds to help victims in their friar's native India. They have a goal of raising $50,000 by Wednesday and were just over $41,000 this morning. Here is the description of their effort from their website:

St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church (UECNA), 1803 W. Emma Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas begins fundraising efforts for the victims of the tsunami in Southern India. Fr. Leo Michael, native of Southern India and Rector of St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church, worked as a missionary for many years and resided along the coastline of Chennai, India, the area that has been devastated. Working with local parishes in Chennai, St. Gabriel's is accepting donations and will channel all donated funds toward the rehabilitation of the tsunami survivors in the devasted areas of Southern India.

I've been considering making a tsunami relief donation and was looking for a worthy cause and trustworthy messenger. I found them here and made a modest contribution. I would encourage any of you that can to consider also giving what you are able to, even if it is only a few dollars.
