There He Goes Again...

Longtime readers know that there are a few bloggers out there that I know I could turn to if I was ever in a pinch. One of those folks is Rob aka Acidman.

Now if there were ever something I learned from campaigns is that good folks can disagree on things. Rob and I disagree about the existence of God. Recently, I posted about a common misrepresentation about God's culpability in the bad things that happen here on our Earth. You can read the whole thing here, but the basic message is--that's not God doing it to you.

I don't know if Rob came back and read that post. However, he's gone and posted again about how so many bad things are attributed to God. He links to another blogger that fairly blows away some of the propaganda aimed at guns and the AR-15 in particular.

I post this mainly to point again at my original answer to that charge and if nothing else, somebody ought to stick up for God as I'm pretty sure he's not going to be starting a blog anytime soon.

I wish God WOULD start a blog. I would haunt his comments a lot. I want a few straight-up answers from Him.

Adam, I begrudge NO ONE their beliefs. We live in a free country and as long as you never go Islamo-nutball on me, you and I can always be friends. I will not argue with you about your faith, because that's YOURS, not mine, and I have no business telling you otherwise.

My mama is a religious woman. The church has been very good TO her and FOR her since my father died. How can I possibly criticize THAT?

I'll always believe that religion is a combination of superstition and ignorance, but that's just MY humble opinion. I could be wrong.

Well Rachel, I guess that would be accurate. We'll all know someday.

Rob, I wish he would too. It would sure make some things easier to understand. And, I know you know that I don't begrudge you yours either. I just wanted to be sure that an alternative take is out there.
