Edwards' Forgotten Speech

I must say that John Edwards did a fine job this evening with his adjusted Two America's speech. I agree with some of the other folks out there that he was a little off tonight. Regardless, he still hit a home run, only this one landed in the second row of bleachers, when we've been accustomed to seeing him knock them out of the park.

While I was in New Hampshire, it was my pleasure to hear his first speech upon returning to New Hampshire following the Iowa caucuses. There, in a packed room in the bottom of the Manchester library, he delivered a passionate version of his Two Americas speech. Tonight, it was refreshing to hear his foreign policy views and sounding more hawkish than any Democrat since Jack Kennedy.

Still, I think many folks may have forgotten about this little heard speech he offered a few times in rural South Carolina. It's come to be known as the Two Americas: Hilton Head and Burning Tires speech.
