June 17, 2004Stand By Your ManI'll be on travel for the rest of the day to attend yet another wedding. This make three that I have been in in the last six months. This ought to be the last wedding I'm in for a while. You know what they say, always a groomsman, never a groom. Except instead of being said with a sigh, that phrase is usually punctuated witha high-five. In any event, my good friend, EK, who has been a heck of a wingman in past adventures (some chronicled here), has found a good lady. She deigned to have him and they're to be married Saturday. I'll be standing with him. As one lady friend already squealed with delight, "I can't wait to see my little country bumpkin in a tuxedo." Well, she is a thoroughly urban Yankee so you must forgive her word choice. In any event, perhaps I'll return with some tuxedo pics in the style of 007. You know the type. Guy. Single Southern, Guy. Hmm, shaken not stirred? Posted by: Michele at June 17, 2004 05:41 PMWhy is it the saying "always a groomsmen never a groom" gets a high five when the saying "always a bridesmaid, never a bride" usually gets sad looks and soft sighs lol Posted by: Uptown Girl at June 18, 2004 12:15 PMBecause, supposedly, every woman wants to get married and every man runs from it. A bunch of crap, I say. Give me a bridesmaid dress over a wedding dress any day! Posted by: mandy at June 18, 2004 12:47 PMwhy buy the pig when all ya want is a little sausage? Posted by: Michele at June 18, 2004 01:38 PMnot sure how I came across your page but glad to see that someone else is enduring the wedding hell that i'm in right now. Went to the third wedding of the summer and am in the middle of planning a wedding for a friend in august. fav line of mine from the wedding planner is, "those who can't wed, plan" Posted by: Laura at June 19, 2004 01:59 PMMy quest to waste time in the blogosphere seeking out (almost) 30 somethings led me to this page! I have not heard of always the groomsman...hmmm. Maybe you will be paired up with the well-known always the bridesmaid... Have fun! Posted by: Jennifer at June 22, 2004 05:47 PMPost a comment

Howdy!
Welcome to my humble little corner of the blogosphere! Not too many rules here--love your neighbor, go easy on the brews, and don't shoot the jukebox. Make yourself at home and remember Momma don't like for you to put your feet on the kitchen table.
