June 16, 2004Sex In The BlogosphereI thought I'd take a moment to provide some linkage to some of the odder things I have seen around the blogs and the net today. It seems like this always happens around this time of year--folks start thinking (sometimes obesessing) about sex. Heck, I'm guilty too. So, instead of writing about it again, I'll link to an old post at the end. The point is, sex is on the minds of many in the blogosphere. Of course, with the rising temperatures and humidity of summer coming on, it should be no surprise. Lord Byron captured it quite well hundreds of years ago with this simple lines~ "What men call gallantry, and gods adultery, Key is talking about fat sacs and how she is happy to be Sam's "backdoor girl." Our secret friend ML is so stricken by adoration for her new bed that she has taken to posting a picture of it. Moxie lets us know that she is expecting a Fed Ex of a Ziploc bag full of Steve's "procreative goodness." Jay Tea posting at Wizbang goes into the recent report that the Colorado University president, Dr. Elizabeth Hoffman has noted that the "c-word" can be used as a term of endearment... Via Lawren, we learn that there is trouble in Paradise between Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. She quotes part of this portion of the article~~ And that's not the only problem the couple is facing, as we discover in an episode when Jessica berates Nick for not opening her car door. "You always opened doors for me when we first got married," she says. "Well, when we first got married," he says, "I was getting laid." And now there's word of a patch that increases women's sexual desire that is nearing the market. (I wonder if these patches will replace 'kick me' signs on girls). Downtown Chick features the many uses of condoms. Rob is able to turn a $3 fruit punch into a romp in the sheets. Holly discusses a donkey's, ahem, package. Eric gives us two newsworthy items. First, he discusses his love for "nekkid" protestors and then the world's first non-naked naked bike ride. Second, he points us to a handy new trend in Japanese couples. My thoughts on sex from the archives. UPDATE: Sure enough, Kate uses a photo of Rasputin's, ahem, equipment, for her caption contest. Karol emails with a comment section gone off the rails. The whole discussion reminds me of a conversation about ball-spanking in a cabin full of bloggers on Blood Mountain in Georgia. It subsequently spilled over into my comments. UPDATE 2: I knew it wasn't just me! This morning even the Instapundit linked to a couple of posts by Eugene Volokh and Andrew Sullivan about sexiness.
