May 13, 2004Brutal Truth TrafficI may be going out on a limb here, but I think the worst (or best) is over. What many have taken to calling a 'traffic tsunami' has hit here as well. It's a pretty apt term, capturing the wave of visits many of us are getting that makes the vaunted 'Instalanche' pale in comparison. I'd wager to say most of us who linked to the video anticipated some additional traffic, but we didn't expect what came. Many of us saw increases of up to 200 times our average daily traffic. There is an literally incredible number of people out there who were looking to see the video for themselves. That large number of people swamped us beyond what we could have imagined. A quick look around the folks fols in my neighborhood of the blogosphere bears this out. The Command Post went down, Blogrolling has been down for the most part, Wizbang was deluged, Jeff went down, Dax is still missing in action, Hosting Matters sent word through Michele that they were having problems as well. The Instapundit was surprised by a jump in his page views, Brainshavings noted the jump, Jeff gave us a play by play and bloggers big and small have all been amazed at the "traffic tsunami." Blogs are shutting down comments on posts and removing off-site links. Kevin shares a clear illustration of the spike in the form of a graphic of Hosting Matters server. I emailed Jeff earlier to ask him to share his thoughts on what this means. I haven't heard back from him yet, but given the crush he's up against, he may have not received my email. I wonder what this says about us as people around the world. The Instapundit has a nice round-up of reactions ranging from Big Media's failure to serve what the public is demanding to the top search requests, Jeff notes a few articles on the crush of searches, and Paul posting at Wizbang sees it as an opportunity to serve. Still, I wonder what it means that so many people are looking for this video. Are we a bunch of sadistic voyeurs? Are we fed up with a talking head telling us what happened, watching it on a video screen, shuddering, and telling us they won't show it to us? Are we just drawn to see evil in it's unedited infamy? I'm not sure what it means. I do know that something spectacular happened in the blogosphere the past couple of days. We witnessed a traffic event that eclipsed the days after 9/11 and the start of the war in Iraq. If I've figured anything about this traffic event, it's that people will seek what they want to find whether Big Media wants to share it or not. The next question is when will we see the additional photos from Abu Gharib that Big Government says we aren't ready to see? I just looked at the footage that is what's instore for all of us. Maybe not as gruesome but death is on the way if we do not live by GODS word. There is no war for peace when nobody's actually living as a peaceful being. Talk is only an after affect of what took place. We tend to play on what can be, not what is reality reality is NICK BERG is dead, died behind what people is forced to do in order to gain some kind of control. If we don't leave theese other countries alone, just let nature take it's course, which is hard for me to say itself we are causing more harm than help. The world has eyes, are watching very close. They are living the way they are handed. Same for us we are living the way we are handed if you are american you are bound to standards that really conflict with your true being. But we are american so we live like an american which is free to do what is aloud. Same for them they live under the same notion but don't have what we have. That's the angle we play on that's what gives us power, that's the anger of the people it's not oil it's not control it's not terrorists it's the power. We are the hand that feed they are telling us feed not im a terrorist, im going to kill because I can no that's not reality. Lead by example is the way of life for every human on earth. We war the whole world war this is the end of the world if we don't fight violence with good. Money is made out of a machine. If we really are fighting for peace. We must help for real not politically not morally not for any other reason than to help HUMAN LIFES. We are alright here they are not this may sound nieve but if you are a true GOD fearing Women or MAN you know that money is printed on a machine with that said money can never run out. Our way of life is fine, they are really living like animals they are forced to. We are the benefactors we have the means to change the way of the world. They need good not pain we are so far in this we can't back out if we do the world is going to end. The alies are looking to us for direction this is life as we know it can end. What we do from here shapes what direction earth goes. We are living the bible now more than ever now because we are living as GOD now. The way of life chosen by the forfather's of america was one of power not one of love, GOOD. If america was really about peace life would be a little more easier well let me tell it like it is truthfully. This power house was based upon bullying. We glorify power. So what do powerless human well im not going to just narrow it down to humans i'll say any alive mammal do when powerless they fight to the end. That's the horror is that we are living in the last days if we don't feed. And for the ignorant people who are going to say what I mean when I say feed I mean change the whole standard of life around. GIVE ALL THE OTHER COUNTRIES MONIES, MEANS TO BECOME A CIVILIZED COUNTRY WE ARE FINE THEY ARE NOT SIMPLE BUT NOT SIMPLE. If you agree with me I want you pass this on we are in the last days no more siting back and ,everybody's included now. And if you don't agree with me you support what is going on, you are a terrorist because you are critical of a peaceful ending of this humanity war that has been casted upon us. This is scary to me, Im a young black male who was not taught how to become a successful man in america so I guess you can say im lumped together with the terrorist, By the stereotype in america, that im wild, unamerican if im unamerican than why am I scared. Why am I speaking out this is bigger than every war faught because of circumstance's and dispositions the land as a whole is in. If someone knows someone that knows our president get my words to him. My site was hogging a ten meg pipe all by itself and non-of the other sites I host were feeling the love. I took the video up and down all day Thursday then decided to CRON job the script from readable to not. The past two days I've been allowing downloads of the video the first ten minutes of every hour and the traffic isn't letting up at all. I honestly think that the P2P community should have jumped on this opportunity when they had the chance. It's not too late for someone to come along with a P2P solution to save my bandwidth bill.
