I warn you in the strongest way I possibly can; this video, these images may just be the most disturbing thing I have ever seen. I advise you not to watch it. Iam very sorry that anyone would have to suffer life this. but i also have to say that we are fighting an unjust war in the first place. lawerence ferlengheti said its not fair, its wrong. once again i feel nothing but remorse for nick berg and his family and i by no means wish to imply that he had it comming. However can we expect any different? timothy mcveigh was mentioned earlier. I live in olkahoma city, and although i was only in the second grade when the bombing occured, i remember it well. my mother worked in that building and was very blessed not to have died or even been seriously injured (unless you count psycologically) the point is there are good people and bad people everywhere. there are so many murderers and child molesters here in america...why not solve our own problems before we attempt to condem everyone else. This scenario has and always will, replay itself again and again when people try to control other people and believe they have some divine right or moral obligation to do so. I am not a religious man, but I do know that whatever God there may be and whatever language He speaks, is repelled by the beheading of this poor soul. Christian, Muslim, Atheist, whatever. God speaks to you when you see this video. It's that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach. If I saw a video of anybody doing that to an Islamic Fundamentalist I would feel the same way. That is because it is wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. There is no good intent behind it. History does repeat itself. Anybody who really believes that America is only in Iraq for oil is shortsighted and foolish. Yes, we are in Iraq for our own selfish desires. The disire for a true world peace. The desire for a more secure U.S. The desire for a more secure world. The middle east has had many hundreds more years to try and develop the peace we have in the U.S. but they keep letting religion, or the bastardization of it, get in the way. The Middle East cannot figure out peace on there own. Period. You can have peace and cultural identity all at the same time. The U.S. continues to prove that. Let us help. There have been basically no uprisings against muslims in the U.S. Why? We know that is not the problem. Those comments about the U.S. being an occupier and wanting to spread its empire, hogwash. We want to make allies. We have things they want, they have things we want. The U.S. does not move into countries and take them over. You germans should remember this. Ask the older Koreans and Vietnamese. Ask the proud Japanese. Yes, the younger generations forget, and taunt the U.S. with false accusations and motives. Name any other country that has given back to those people that try to oppress them? One. Great Britain. One poster asked a great question. What do they really want from us? If we leave them be, then its our "economic" policy that leaves them behind. If we try to get involved then we are invading in thier foriegn affairs. The U.S. cannot win. Everything we do has the best of intentions. We screw up. But never with malice to the people of any other nation. Every war we have ever fought in our short history has benefitted the people of those countries when they let us help. When they still turn on us what are we expected to do? Turn the other cheek? More often than not, we do. It is absolutely crucial that these extremeists do not succeed in thier plans and no world citizen should be so short sighted as to not see the real implications here. Just look at what the Middle East has become from what it once was. Look at how it became that way. It happened way before there even was a United States. The Middle East can recover, The U.S. is truly trying to help, let us. Just look at history. I know people will bring up every bad thing the U.S. has done and say "See, see, see! Told you! Youre aweful, terrible people intent on destroying the world!" Where do you live now? Where would you REALLY be without the U.S. and if it is in the U.S. where can you freely go? Piss on it. All this matters for nothing. Even if everybody in the Middle East or any where,loved us right now, 30 years from now their children would be pissed off at us because we still have it figured out better than they ever will without our help. It all boils down to jealousy. They want some of what we have and tell them how they can get it but they don't want to work for it. They want it given to them. Their leaders don't want us to tell them how to get it because if we do, they won't be leaders. Blah Blah blah........... They could have made it quick, but they chose to make it slow and gruesome, knowing that if they posted it on the web it would cause this kind of reaction. Get the US out of there now, and get us out with you. This war was wrong at the start, its wrong now. If we get out, you vote out that arsehole of a president you have and stop supporting Israel's policy of madness and we might have someplace to call a normal world in a few decades. I have viewed the video and it just goes to show you how uncivilized the middle eastern people still are. They are radicals when it comes to anything. Doesnt this seem a little odd for pocket wear. His hairdo and beard made him reseamble a middle eastern style. Although young guys always try out that first beard kinda thing. His last name was berg, a traditional jewish name and another report was about his passport and some kind of jewish identifier. Gee one of you reporter guys outta be falling all over this stuff. Im a Nam vet and I've seen some pretty gastly things. This was not a beheading, it was not honorable, nor was it painless, this was a hacking committed by a murderer not a war hero. S. has no business in Iraq, I remind you that they attacked us. We have a right to defend ourselves from attack. If you live in another country, you have no right to condemn us for our actions because it was not your country that was attacked September 11th. We will do what we must to survive. For those who believe that if we pull our troops out, they will stop all of the violence, your are being seriously mislead. At least it's a quick death, better than dieing from an infected gunshot wound. Most Iraqis don't want coalition forces in Iraq (that wasn't the case initially, but it is now). We've made a mess of it, we should get out. As for Berg you have to question his intelligence, wandering round Iraq with no bodyguard as a Jewish American, just come from Israel with an Israeli stamp in his passport. Common sense ought to tell him not to go into an Arab war zone. Sure he didn't deserve to die, but that's Darwinism. He might have got out of Iraq had he not been arrested so you can understand why his family is blaming Rumsfeld.
