March 10, 2004The latest Two Americas - Burning Tires at Hilton HeadWhile many people noted John Edward's swerve to the left during his presidential campaign, there is evidence that he maintained his populist, son of a mill worker sensibilities even unto this day. For those unfamiliar with life in the outlyinbg rural areas, it is common practice to burn excess refuse on your property, either in a barrell or in a big burn pile. It's all together plausible that Senator Edwards witnessed more than one of these exercises in rural waste management during his childhood in South Carolina. Apparently, it made such an impression upon him that he was thunderstruck during a recent visit to Hilton Head and added an impromptu passage to his well known Two Americas speech. Click on the link below to hear what he had to say. Posted by Adam H at March 10, 2004 01:51 PM ~ Link Cosmos | Trackbacks (0)Comments
