March 03, 2004Return of the KissIt's been many, many weeks (shoot, a few months) since we last had a Kissing Booth and it is past time to renew the tradition. To have your entry included simply email it to kissbooth-at-singlesouthernguy.com. Please include the title of your post, it’s perma-link, and sentence or two describing the piece. Entries are due by 6 EST each Wednesday. To submit a question for “Ask Adam” you can use the same email address. Kicking things off this week is Deb who submitted several entries after our last Kissing Booth, unwittingly falling into an accidental trap where I didn't complete another digest of relationship articles. Deb's post describes her feelings and the repercussions of cheating on a boyfriend. As a person who sat on the other end of one of these stories, I find it fascinating. Our friend in the Yeti suit has a great post in the archives about Soulmates. Do you have one? Is there any such thing? The (sometimes) blissfully in love Sugarmama reminds us that sometimes it's important to call our significant others just to say hi. The Pretty Girl In The Corner muses over exactly what she likes about the tactile feeling of sex. The Queen Goddess has a compelling look at the importance of social class in dating. Unfortunately, she doesn't have a permalink (that I can find anyway) so scroll down and read the post "Dating Class" from Tuesday, March 2. (note to QG: Get some permalinks, doll!) And because I like QG's post so much, I'll submit an old entry of mine regarding the same topic, "Money Matters -- Or Does It?" Michael "Who Is Like God?" Williams discusses the power and intimacy of a name and the nuances of when one would should inquire as to another's name. Via Mike, we find Brett Olsen, another no permalink blog so look for March 2 also(Brett: see the note to QG above). Brett writes about loving someone and how that can be most frightening. Oh Brett, count yourself lucky when there are so many who would like to scared in such a way. Our friend Stasia wonders about "the Search" and maybe taking some time off....(the following quote is for anyone who can guess it; however, I'm calling Eric out: you better be first brother) For the sword outwears its sheath, And since I called him out, Eric has a post I found touching and personal about a friend who is being deployed to Iraq, leaving his wife with unborn child and his two year old here. I have a good friend who is leaving two weeks from now and another friend who may be headed to Haiti leaving a fiancee and a wife behind, respectively. It is important to remember that it is not just 'Our Boys' over there; they are also the friends and neighbors of many of us. My beautiful blog sis has a wonderful post about the life of a mother and a housewife. Show Kelley some love. A new blog I have found has a great take on lame excuses for breaking or being late for a date. Our old pal Ryan went to a Single In the City Lock and Key Party. I was wondering how these events went... Ever been so hot for a guy you crapped your pants? Let Lauren of MadPony show you how it is. And last but not least, the ever alluring Angie explains what to do when your boyfriend proposes to you in front of thousands of strangers. (To see what not to do, click here.) The 'Ask Adam' feature will return as soon as someone asks me something! Or, if we get a question shortly, we'll add it to the post later. Comments

And how did you link that particular page? I didn't know that could be done with blogrot. Posted by: Key at March 6, 2004 08:01 PM...that was vague. In my first sentence I was talking about the proposal link. Posted by: Key at March 7, 2004 02:37 PMPost a comment

Howdy!
Welcome to my humble little corner of the blogosphere! Not too many rules here--love your neighbor, go easy on the brews, and don't shoot the jukebox. Make yourself at home and remember Momma don't like for you to put your feet on the kitchen table.
