February 26, 2004We gon' party like it's your birthdayThat's right folks. It has come around again. It's my birthday. If you'll remember last year, the birthday was marked by an ice storm in South Arkansas and the loss of an uncle. This year, the weather is downright balmy in comparison. Sorry to all my compatriots among the Jawja bloggers--I hear y'all had snow and ice this morning. In any event, as always, Mom called to wish me a happy birthday at the crack of dawn as always (ever seen City Slickers? Yeah, like that.) UPDATE: If you were considering dropping any kind of present my way, please stop. Instead, head over to Dean and Rosemary's who really need the help. Lord knows what I would be like if Hemi was in such a state. Our prayers our with your Dean and Rosemary. (Hat tip to the Blog sis for showing me a friend in need.) If you are in a birthday present giving mood, you can find my Amazon wish list by clicking here. If you'd rathe hit the tip jar, you can find the pay pal link to the left. More importantly, thanks to everyone whom I have met and made enduring friendships with via this blog. In tribute, I'd like to say thanks for a number of things to some special friendships I have made here~~
for losing my clothes and personifying the phrase "brutally honest," for trading war stories with a long lost brother, for sharing a cup of coffee and tales of life, for having a leisurely lunch and showing me a perfect example of true love, for meeting randomly at a neighborhood bar, for intense discussions on all matters of subjects, for circling our wagons in the face of diametrically opposed political opinions, for being a fellow redhead and old soldiers, for setting up MT for the full fledged blog, for tweaking and guidance, for wearing no shoes, no shirts, and having no problems this week, for being as good as a brother, for html primers and funny talks, for insight into DC dating, for welcoming me to the blogosphere, for managing the campaign to have me named Sexiest Male Blogger 2003, and for anyone I have forgotten, please forgive and know that you have made it more than worth the time, money, and energy spent in being a blogger. And finally for all of the readers who come by and visit regularly or occasionally, whether they leave a comment or not, they read and I am eternally grateful for their audience. Happy birthday, O my adopted brother of choice! I was talking to my mother on the phone when I saw your post; she says to tell you she's sorry she doesn't remember having you, but she wishes you a happy one, anyway! ;) I miss my Friday night updates. Hell, I miss you! You *are* looking for jobs in Atlanta...right??? Posted by: kelley at February 26, 2004 03:17 PMOh sweetie!!! I hope your birthday is ten times as fab as any birthday you've ever had. In fact, I hope it's so good you don't remember it and have to depend upon post b-day jokes and sketchy stories told by friends. That is, if you're into that sort of thing. And thanks for the shout out. I'm telling you, you should move to DC. Become an offical part of the politicati (is that a word). And then we can have lunch and make fun of all the people doing their city-dweller thing! Howdy!
Welcome to my humble little corner of the blogosphere! Not too many rules here--love your neighbor, go easy on the brews, and don't shoot the jukebox. Make yourself at home and remember Momma don't like for you to put your feet on the kitchen table.
