October 10, 2003The Moon is in the Murphy's Phase.Gentle readers, I have had one of the worst and most challenging weeks of my life. It seems as if anything could go wrong for people I serve, it did. I have pounded my brain trying to figure out why so many off the wall, bizarre things could happen in five days. There has been our huge issue at the job, my server melts down, I become an uncle for the first time, some old friends have their baby the day before, a co-workers wife has emergency surgery to help her pregnancy (came through great by the way), and at least a dozen other things that have cropped up.
The Cubs and the Red Sox are in the playoffs. The Terminator is the Governor-elect of California. The Vikings are 5-0. Indianapolis pulled that unbelievable upset off against Tampa Bay. Another presidential candidate from Little Rock is the front-runner of the Democratic primary field. Rush Limbaugh confesses to a drug addiction. An Iranian woman wins the Nobel Peace prize. Yasser Arafat is finally succumbing to old age. The First Lady of Maryland opines that Britney Spears should be shot. The French finally wake up and are taking a second look at the 35 hour work week. A dog's fur catches fire from a vehicle backfire and then starts a grassfire near U.S. 95. For real. I was rooting for the CubSox for the underdog, Cinderella effect, but screw that--Go Yankees! Go Marlins! UPDATE: Michele reports she has had a bad week. Other people have had their issues, but one quick read of S-Train's challenge of the week can put most everything back into perspective. It must be the full moon or alignment of planets or something. Everyone I know had a stressful, crazy week. Posted by: michele at October 10, 2003 09:05 PMIs it next week yet? I'll be glad when it is... Posted by: Kevin at October 10, 2003 11:27 PMhmmmm....I did notice that it has been raining in the evening all week but no cause for alarm. And oh yes halle berry will star as catwoman I think. isn't there a rule that says you can't be more than one superhero at a time? Posted by: owen at October 11, 2003 01:41 AMI agree that it has been a bizarre week..especially the thing with the first lady of Maryland and Britney Spears. Stop the madness! More controversy just gives Britney more money! Posted by: lotus at October 13, 2003 09:12 AMthe weekend got worse for me. Posted by: ho at October 13, 2003 03:36 PMPost a comment

Howdy!
Welcome to my humble little corner of the blogosphere! Not too many rules here--love your neighbor, go easy on the brews, and don't shoot the jukebox. Make yourself at home and remember Momma don't like for you to put your feet on the kitchen table.
