Novelists?

Did you know about the November Novel Challenge? I’ve had it bookmarked for months, but Vicky beat me to posting about it and Michele beat us both—by a long time.

Ever fancied writing a novel? Here’s your chance to be challenged to do it. 50,000 words. One Month. Who’ll be left standing? Who’ll be left cramming in 40,000 words during Thanksgiving weekend?

The idea is to force yourself by virtue of the deadline to finish it within a month to actually complete a novel. The push is for quantity at the expense of quality. The main idea is to get it done—good, bad, and/or ugly.

Many of the great bloggers who frequent here have great novels within them. I believe with all my heart that many of the gentle readers who frequent or happen by this humble site have better novels in them than I. Why not give it a shot? You can always go back and edit to refine it into the best story you can tell.

50,000 words isn't a novel! Ha! That's barely 100 pages.

I'm 200k words into my novel right now and only half done!
