Hogs vs. Horns

After waking up with a headache from the previous evening's festivities, there were only two looming agenda items for Saturday--pick up a U-Haul for a load heading towards our NYC Showroom and and watch the Hogs.

That's right Texas fans. You had it coming. I've given it a few days just to make sure I don't kick too hard, but here it is. Instead of going through the game, I'd like to start with what you said about the game in this post and this post and this post.

Let's begin with an inflammatory comment by Holly.

"Ok, so your RECENT statistics may be correct, but let's go back to 1969 to the #5 game of the century... you got it Arkansas and Texas.. who won? TEXAS!!!!"

Well, now that we've had the second game of the 21st Century, we can see that the Hog's have all but extinguished any Texan dreams of a national championship. And, the Hogs own the Horns in the current century.

Next we have, a comment from our friend Kin whom I miss reading since he has taken a break from blogging.

"Sorry Adam...but I'm gonna have to go with Holly on this one."

Sorry, Kin, but you should have gone with your boy on this one.

Ashia weighs in with this jab at Arkansas--

"I say let you have the football comment. I mean, in truth we all know how much better Texas is anyway, in everything. ;)"

Thanks, Ashia. I'll take my football comment and our 3-0 record against Texas since 1991.

Courtney (whose been MIA since Sept. 3) adds this about the game:

"The Horns NEVER lose when I wear my game shirt. Or hardly ever."

Hardly ever is right. Except win Arkansas rolls into Austin and ends Texas's 20+ game home winning streak.

And then Holly weighs back in with this comment:

"very cute but when that longhorn is shoved up the you know what of the razorback...... then we'll know who's boss!!!!"

To borrow the title from a chessy sitcom, Who's The Boss (now)?

And Holly comes again:

"now Adam, I REALLY hope you guys win because if you don't..... you are NEVER going to hear the end of it."

I'm really glad your hopes were with the Hogs. However, the way they handled the Longhorns, I'm not sure they needed it. Heh.

Now, for some of my predictions from back then...

You might still have your pre-season Top 10 ranking after you struggle past New Mexico State, but you can kiss it goodbye after 4 quarters of the Hogs.

Ashia--I'll take it and y'all remember it. Arkansas defeats Texas.

The cow ran from the pig.

Razorbacks kill Longhorns.

Looking back, I didn't talk much smack at all, but my predictions were dead on. Texas was #6 going into the game and fell to #13. I blew the call on them struggling against New Mexico State (although they failed to score until the second quarter). The cow, as in Chance Mock, did run from the pig. And we did kill the Longhorns.

Wrapping up the week, Arkansas linebacker was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week, QB Matt Jones was voted Player of the Week by USA Today.com, and the Football Writers Association of America named the Hogs the National Team of the Week.

The Hogs returned to the AP poll ranked 14th, the coaches' poll ranked 18th, and was listed as #9 in the Sagarin Power Ratings.

It was all in fun...... i talked shit and now i am paying the price, but i have to admit that my comment about "very cute but when that longhorn is shoved up the you know what of the razorback...... then we'll know who's boss" was pretty funny!!!!!!!!

I still don't have a clue what a razorback is...a type of hog, I suppose? At any rate, it's fun to display my Georgia Bulldogs license plates around here. Must. Twist. Knife. Of. SEC. Championship.

A razorback is an almost extinct in Arkansas kind of hog that has very coarse hair, extremely thick skin, and menacing tusks coming from either side of it's mouth.

Georgia. Ouch.

However, my buddy and I were joking that we had to call the Hogs because the folks in Atlanta didn't get to hear it last year during the championship...

Texas QB,Chance Mock, is just so hot the boy is delisous, I want to make Chance my little cowboy play toy! Who cares if he did not beat the razorbacks. Chance is cute, he is small for a QB, just look at him next to that huge Black QB that Texas has. Chance is just the sexy, average all american boytoy who I want to play with!! I Love Chance Mock!!
