A Single Southern Guy In Atlanta

That's right gentle readers, I will be leaving shortly and making the picturesque drive through Arkansas Delta, Mississippi, Alabama, and West Georgia into Atlanta. I know that I will be out there a minimum of two weeks and maybe longer. Our CEO has beckoned, and I'm heading to the San Francisco of the East Coast.

I'm not completely thrilled about it, but the upsides are I'll get to see my momma and grandmother. A friend of mine emailed with the location and time of the University of Arkansas Atlanta area alumni watch party for the Hogs versus the 'Horns, so I'll be with other Razorback fans to watch the game. And I get to be around people who really have a drive for this company to make our target of going public within four years. The company has a small apartment available for me to use while I'm there so it won't be hotel life. On balance, it ought to be a decent trip.

When I get set up in my office I'll add posts again. If I was equipped to post from the road, that would be fun, but in lieu of that, I'll take pictures and share them with you later.

In the meantime, if any bloggers in the Atlanta area happen to see this drop me an email about things to do, places to go, people to see, etc. Sugarmama--I don't remember if you were in Birmingham or not, but, if you are, I'll be coming through. Dax--Exactly how far outside of Atlanta are you? Nina--I know you're recovering from back surgery, but if you are able to get up and around, holler at me.

Until later, Longhorn fans be forewarned: You will lose Saturday. The humble pig is underrated and we will 'Mock' your 'Chance' at a national title run. Just listen. Especially you Texas fans.

We're going to Atlanta this weekend to see Yo La Tengo and The Aisler's Set at the Variety Playhouse Friday night, then Jay Farrar Saturday night, both at the Variety Playhouse. Oh... Go Dawgs!!!

Ok OK OK OK OK, I just want to post this BEFORE Adam gets to it.... ARKANSAS RULES..... ARKANSAS RULES.... THEY PLAYED WELL AND DESERVED THE WIN.... ok, i said it... now i am going to post it on my site just to make you happy. I will not say that Pork is the REAL BBQ in a biker bar in TX nor will I call the hogs, but i will post a little tribute to Arkansas on my blog.
