I am pleased to announce the countdown to a new contest to be held jointly with the incredibly talented and beautiful Kate of Electric Venom. If you have been a fan of Kate's for a while, you will remember when she re-worked the words to Janis Joplin's "Me and Bobby McGee" and then went a step further by recording her performance of the re-worked song and posting it on her blog for all the world to hear. Inspired, I sent her a copy of the re-worked lyrics I had completed for Bad Company's "Feel Like Makin' Love." Being both duly impressed, we agreed to jointly hold a 'songing' contest. Here is the object--take a well known song and re-work it with the words of your choice. The contest begins this Friday and will conclude Sunday at midnight. There will be an award for best re-work of of a song's lyrics (the Addie) and best vocal performance of a re-worked song (the Katie). Keep checking back this week on both Kate's and my sites for more details such as prizes, useful links, and copies of our own reworked songs, etc. As the entries come in we will be posting them to our blogs as the weekend progresses.
