Night Skies

mars.gif

So, this is two days running that I woke before dawn. Something that struck me both mornings, is one of the objects in the sky. I forget where I read it or heard it, but apparently, for a few weeks here, the planet Mars is closer than it has been to the Earth in a very long time. I saw it this morning and last just a few degrees west of due south and it is truly a sight to behold.

My favorite object in the nighttime sky is Venus. I hope that someday Venus is close to the Earth the way Mars is now. That will be a sight to behold.
